you ok mama?

One of my favorite things that TJ says to me is when I sneeze. He stops whatever he is doing, looks at me with concern and says "You ok, Mama?" - he also says it often to me when I'm in the kitchen, usually cooking or cleanig, and he's playing in the living room. I never realized how much I say ow or ouch.

Each time I say it, I hear his concerned little voice, "Mama, you ok?".

Never fails to melt my heart.

baby as food 28 weeks

By this week, By this week, your baby weighs two and a quarter pounds (like a Chinese cabbage) and measures 14.8 inches from the top of her head to her heels.

favorite color

Mama: "What's your favorite color?"

T: "TJ."

Mama: "Is TJ a color? Or are you TJ? What's your favorite color?"

T: "TJ."

Mama: "Mine too."

No sleep for TJ

Naps lately have been HARD to say the least.

All I hear for at least an hour is TJ saying "Mama. Mama. Mama. Mama. Where are you, Mama?" because he knows I'm here but can't figure out why we are not hanging out together, like we do the rest of the time.

Yesterday he ended up falling asleep after I made a big 20 minute ruckus on our squeaky treadmill. John thinks that he just wants to know I'm here so I made a big ordeal of telling him that I will always stay nearby, if I don't, it's breaking the rules and Mama doesn't break the rules. Good thing he didn't know me in high school.

I just put him down for his nap. So far so good, although he is making some noises.

I only read him one story because he wouldn't pee on the potty. He did finally at least pretend totry, so I gave him one for effort.

baby as food - 29 weeks

Your baby is growing rapidly now. This week he weighs about 2 1/2 pounds (like a butternut squash) and is a tad over 15 inches long from head to heel.

one baby, one less closet.

Yikes, just realized that when Little Number Two arrives on scene, I am going to lose one whole closet stuffed with sweatshirts and sweaters and currently all of my clothes that don't fit because of the aforementioned Little Number Two who is stuffed into my belly right now.

We have a good size house, we just don't have good storage space.

Let the nesting commence.

Salvation Army is going to be psyched. I already cleaned out some drawers but need to do more, more, more.

I like a clean, uncluttered look. My house, not so clean and uncluttered. Crap everywhere. Never again will I buy a house without an entryway. Never!!!!

At least it's not twins.

We'll get there. We'll get there.

Is it just me?

Is it my imagination or does Maria on Sesame Street look constantly puzzled?

sleeping much better

TJ was tired today after the gym and after our lunch at Newport Creamery. He slept from about 1:30 until 5:30 or so!

We think he's growing.

baby as food 30 weeks

Your baby's about 15.7 inches long now, and she weighs almost 3 pounds (like a head of cabbage).

peas and laughs

TJ ate his peas tonight. I had to eat one, then he would eat one.

He's funny. As of today, he suddenly is laughing out loud at everything. John gave him some jellybeans and he thought that was hilarious.

no gym

So, my gym unexpectedly closed down. Well, unexpected to me anyway.

It's throwing a loop into my life, because going to the gym and TJ going to the daycare there has been such a big part of my weekly schedule for the past two years.

It wasn't the greatest gym, actually pretty old fashion, in a way, and I am excited to be able to go to a gym with a pool and updated equipment.

But the fact is, I have met some great people there and TJ LOVED the daycare and all his little friends.

Now, I have to find a new gym and a new chapter of gym going will commence. The one I am thinking about is 5 exits south, which I'm not sure how I feel about. The good news is that it's a Y, so I will have access to the one that's only a few miles from here.

potty training delight

This morning, TJ took off his pjs and went to the potty all by himself!

He's pretty much been potty trained since late September, but we would still have to physically put him on the commode. Hopefully today, a new road has been crossed!

Will be interesting to see what happens after this new baby gets here.

killing me softly with chocolate

Too much chocolate over the past four days. UGH.

books

T is now at the point where he sits quietly and listens to a story as he carefully turns the pages of a 24-page text filled Pooh Bear book. "I do it!" he says if we try to turn the page instead of letting him do this very important task.
