family as food

TJ on kitchen table: Mama, lookit me!

Mama: Only food belongs on the table, TJ. Are you food?

TJ: No.

Mama: What kind of food would you be?

TJ: Pizza.

Mama: I would be chocolate. What would Daddy be?

TJ: A pineapple.

Mama: What would Julia be?

TJ: I don't know.

Mama: A banana?

TJ, smiling: Yes, a banana.

Mama: What would Auntie KK be?

TJ: A strawberry.

just try it

TJ looking at bbq beef on his plate: What is that?

Mama: barbeque beef. Try it?

TJ: I don't want to.

Mama: Set a good example for Julia.

TJ, taking a bite: yum!

potty photos

TJ is sitting on the potty with his camera taking photos. Every now and then I hear a little hard breathing so I know he's being productive.

7 weeks old today

7 weeks old and she's figuring out that nighttime is for sleeping. PHEW!!!

granted, it is a Tigger toy

Mama: I got you that toy because I love you.

TJ: You love me?

Mama: Yes, TJ, I do love you.

TJ: And I love Tigger.

goodnight

After singing TJ a long lullaby about our life and our day, I tell him "you are such a good boy" and he replies to me "you are such a good girl."

Hey, I'll take it.

pigs fly and hell is cold

JP just brought home a new type of beer that he heard was good from one of his new co-workers.

It is delicious! Makes switching jobs and a three hour daily commute worth it right there.

The clincher? MILLER.

It's called Miller Chill and I love it.

plans were...

Our plans were to spring clean. Well, mine at least. I think my husbands’ plan was to take a nap.

What we ended up doing in reality is going to the zoo, where my 2-year-old told another little boy not to look at his seals.

dinner conversation

TJ to John at the dinner table, for no apparent reason (to us at least): "You freaking out?"

Hopkinton

The family took a Sunday drive today to Hopkinton. It was a busy day there, the Boston Marathon is tomorrow, so the town was buzzing. We really enjoyed what we saw, and would like to find out more about the area, where to shop, etc.

Stopped and had lunch at an outdoor restaurant/bar called TJ's. TJ loved seeing his name all over the menu and at other places in the restaurant.

He was a good boy and entertained himself by dunking his plastic hippo into his water cup numerous times. He learned to balance it by its mouth and its legs and that was a very exciting moment.

Julia was well behaved too, as usual. Well, mostly usual. She likes to snooze.

brown

We think Julia's eyes are officially going to be brown. We thought maybe green but they seem to be getting darker. She's got some lashes, too. Whatever color they are, beautiful. Alert and bright.
