Today I left work and did the whole pick up/drop off thing with the kids.
I picked up Julia and took her to her last dance class. She was the cutest thing I have ever seen in a little gray dress with a built in tutu, sneakers and white socks. A little bit adorable, a little bit 70-year-old American tourist. She knew she looked cute too. She spoke to me so clearly about her dance shoes and how she could wear whatever she wanted and that she didn't want to eat pizza in the pizza store, but rather at home.
When I got to TJ's pick up and saw TJ, honestly, my heart was just so happy. He was holding his Cars backpack and his Cars umbrella and a picture of an orca, half colored, with a blue crayon in his hand.He didn't seem particularly happy to see me. I, on the other hand, wanted to eat him up.
I listened to them speaking in the car to each other, they weren't fighting, or whining, or yelling, just really talking to each other. It was a nice Mama afternoon.
