I use reverse psychology on the kids. Sometimes it works, sometimes not.
One time, they were not cooperating with the whole going to bed thing, so I said "ok, we are all going to stay up all night! We can party all night! No sleep for anyone!" It worked. They got so tired that they were telling me it was time to go to bed.
Julia has taken this "party all night" to heart.
Almost every night when we put her to bed, she says "I don't want to go to bed, I want to party all night."
Her and John were having a conversation today and he said "Julia, did you cry in the middle of the night last night?"
Julia: Yes. But then I went back to sleep.
John: That's good, big girls sleep through the night.
Julia. Yes. Sometimes I like to sleep but sometimes I like to party all night.
